Bob Stoops Isn’t A Fan Of Cornerback Zack Sanchez’s “Free Frank Shannon” Headband, “Free BM” Eye Black
The performance of sophomore cornerback Zack Sanchez was key in Oklahoma’s 31-26 win over archrival Texas over the weekend. Sanchez returned an interception 43 yards for a touchdown against the Longhorns, and was in on a number of other big deflections and tackles during the game. While head coach Bob Stoops has to be pleased with Sanchez’s effort on the field, he is not as impressed with the messages that Sanchez wore under his helmet. The Fort Worth native wrote “Free Frank Shannon” on his headband, and had eye black that read “Free BM.”

Frank Shannon, Oklahoma’s leading tackler in 2013, is suspended for the year after being involved in sexual assault allegations. Baker Mayfield, a Sooner quarterback who transferred in from Texas Tech during the off-season, is sitting out for the year due to the Big 12′s transfer rules, and is losing a season of eligibility as a result.
