UPSET ALERT: #2 goes down: Linebacker Scooby Wright made the “Wright” moves and gets a “Scooby” snack

Nick Wilson rushed for two touchdowns and quarterback Anu Solomon threw for another as unranked Arizona upset No. 2 Oregon 31-24.

The game marks the second year in a row the Wildcats have defeated the Ducks. Arizona took a 42-16 decision in Tucson in 2013. This year, they took the show on the road to Eugene.

The freshman signal-caller Solomon was 20 of 31 passing for 287 yards.

His counterpart Marcus Mariota, a Heisman hopeful entering the season, was 20 of 32 through the air for 276 yards. He also caught a touchdown pass on a throw from running back Royce Freeman.

The Ducks trailed 24-14 entering the fourth quarter but fought back to tie the game at 24.

However, Arizona answered with a score of its own when Terris Jones-Grigsby converted from 1 yard out with less than three minutes remaining. The touchdown was set up by an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty by Tony Washington, who took a bow after a sacked Solomon for a 9-yard loss.

Mariota tried to mount a comeback drive but was stripped of the ball (see video below) by sophomore linebacker Scooby Wright III, handing possession back to the Wildcats, who were able to run five plays and run out the clock.
